Design & Technology Intent Statement 

At Nansloe Academy, our design and technology curriculum encourages children to use their creativity and imagination to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems. Across all year groups, children will be designing and making ‘something for somebody for some purpose.’ Our intent is that our Nansloe learning cycle is woven through the D&T curriculum and will help to equip children with life skills, knowledge and understanding. Children are given opportunities to reflect upon and evaluate past and present design technology, it’s uses and effectiveness. They are encouraged to become aspirational innovators and risk takers. Through our curriculum, we aim to inspire and enthuse our learners to think about and design high-quality products that are authentic and meaningful and gain an understanding of the relevance D&T has in our modern, technological world.
